Lots of people wonder (and worry) about what Chiropractors do- is it too rough? Is it too gentle? Is it for me, whether I’m old or young, have a disc injury or osteoporosis, headaches or growing pains?
The answer to this has many different sides. All chiropractors are trained in gentle manual techniques (the ones that sometimes make the popping noise), AND they are also all trained in techniques that don’t use manual adjusting. How a chiropractor practices depends on the individual practitioner.
Here at Chiro Connect, we adapt our techniques to suit each individual person. Some people respond better to more manual adjusting, some people respond better to lower force techniques such as activator, or craniosacral therapy. Which techniques we use depends on the person’s preference, their condition, and how their body is functioning. We usually use a combination of different approaches to help you get the most out of your care.
We use a combination of manual adjusting- or alternatives such as activator and blocks, CranioSacral Therapy, Applied Kinesiology (AK- muscle testing), Total Body Modification (TBM), and a few others.
The safety of chiropractic care has been proven in good research time and again. We have, over the years in various areas, seen babies, children, elderly, paraplegics, people with scoliosis, people with osteoporosis, people with one arm or one leg, people that have/ have had cancer, office workers, builders, ship captains, nurses, doctors, and even a Lord!
This is not to say that chiropractic care cures some of these conditions (hopefully that is obvious, and being a baby, elderly or a builder isn’t a ‘condition’ either…), but to say that chiropractic care is safe, and there are many different technique options for people from all backgrounds and functional ability.
You just need to find the right practitioner that suits you!
